Displayed is a music campaign design for the artist Kendrick Lamar. Lamar’s music touches on themes of racism, spirituality, as well as personal integrity and morals. The inspiration for the mixed media styles is based of the African American artist Jean- Michel Basquiat who’s art communicates the same issues as Lamar’s music regarding race and self-identity. The universal message for this piece is that we can all rise up from darkness and that our surroundings do not determine our success.
